All the need to knows
Let’s get the boring bits out the way…This page covers the essentials, a few simple campsite rules, how payments work, and the booking terms and conditions. Nothing too heavy, just what you need to know so everything runs smoothly and you can focus on the good stuff, like switching off and settling in.
The Essentials
Booking & Payments
You can book your stay through this website or Greener Camping. Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. We know that plans can change, so if you need to cancel, you’ll receive a full refund if it’s 7 days or more before your stay. Cancellations made within 7 days will receive a 50% refund. Please note, if you’ve added a Greener Camping membership to your booking, this part is non-refundable.
Bringing Your Dog?
We’re dog friendly, just make sure to add them to your booking. It’s £2.50 per dog, per stay, with a maximum of two dogs per pitch.
Arriving by Car?
Parking is free, however, we ask that you bring just one car per pitch. If you need to bring more than one, please get in touch ahead of time and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
Extras
Extras like firewood can be added when you book. You can also request items during your stay, we have a card machine on site, but we’re not able to accept cash.
A Few Gentle Guidelines
General
We are a Greener Camping Club campsite, our site is for the exclusive use of its Members.
In order to stay at a Greener Camping Club campsite, at least one adult from each occupied pitch (pup tents excepted), must be a member of the Greener Camping Club.
The Greener Camping Club and Gronwyn Retreats accepts no liability whatsoever for loss or damage to persons or property, arising from the use of its campsites.
Arrival
Check-in is from 1pm, though earlier arrivals may be possible free of charge if your pitch is available, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. We ask that all arrivals are before 7pm to keep the meadow peaceful for those already settled in.
The speed limit on the Gronwyn Retreats access track is 5 mph, nice and gentle for everyone’s peace of mind.
Please check in with Rob or Sophie before setting up. You’ll find the contact number on the Contact page and we’re just a quick call away.
If you haven’t added Greener Camping Club membership to your booking, please be ready to show proof if requested.
You’ll find clearly marked pitching areas, we kindly ask that you only pitch within these zones. If you’re unsure, just get in touch and we’ll guide you.
For safety and comfort, tents must be pitched with at least six metres between the outer edges of each unit where possible (this doesn’t apply to small pup tents). You’ll notice rope fences between pitch zones to help with spacing and privacy.
During Your Stay
Please use the dedicated disposal area for your waste and recycle wherever possible. Any large or bulky waste will need to be taken home with you.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must always be kept under control, on a lead no longer than 2 metres, and never left unattended.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times, the meadow is shared space and we want everyone to enjoy it safely.
Please keep noise to a considerate level. Between 10.00pm and 7.30am, we ask for quiet, no excessive noise or vehicle movement during this time.
We do not allow generators or amplified music, including car stereos. Small Bluetooth speakers are permitted, but please be mindful of others and the natural surroundings.
Fires are welcome but must be kept off the ground in your own firepit. We also offer a communal firepit, which everyone is welcome to enjoy. Once you're ready to wind down, please extinguish it using the sand bucket provided. Campfires should never be left unattended and must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
We don’t encourage leaving pitches unattended overnight. If you do need to, please ensure all items are securely locked. Gronwyn Retreats cannot accept responsibility for any loss or damage.
If the behaviour of any guest, or their children or dogs, causes a disturbance to others, or repeatedly breaks the Greener Camping Club rules, we may ask you to stop or, in rare cases, to leave the site without refund.
Day visitors are welcome by prior arrangement only. Please notify Rob or Sophie when they arrive.
Departure
Campers are welcome to enjoy the site and surrounding area throughout the day, but we kindly ask that pitches are vacated by 12 noon. If you'd like a little more time, just let us know, later departures may be possible depending on availability, free of charge.
Vacated pitches must be left clear of all personal property, debris and refuse.
These simple guidelines help us care for the land and each other, so Gronwyn stays a quiet, thoughtful kind of place. If you're happy to follow them, you'll find a proper Welsh cwtch waiting
